2D Art III Honors

Prerequisites

Successful completion of 2D Art 2 with a 90 or higher.

Requirements

Online Assignments

SRCSD provides Microsoft Teams among other apps to all students and they will be utilized for some assignments. There are desktop computers available in my classroom, or these may be completed at home.

Written Assignments

Weekly assignments to promote critical thinking and improve writing skills.

8-10 Teacher-Directed Projects

Two to three will be assigned each quarter (nine weeks.)

Course Description

This honors level course has two major components: 1. hands-on work 2. written assignments. Students will learn how to write artist statements, art critiques and reflections to show knowledge of the organizing elements and principles of art. Independent decision-making while staying within stated parameters is expected. Students will learn the importance of time management. Your child will be encouraged to research and explore proper techniques to show mastery of media. Completed work will be evaluated through peer reviews and critiques.

$40 Supply Fee*

Covers all of the materials you will need throughout this one-year course. You will receive a sketchbook that you should bring to class every day.
